Background

I am Afro-Puerto Rican, and all my life has been spent moving from one home to the next, to the next state, and by extension, to the next portion of my life. I am currently a freshman in college, exploring all that CCNY has to offer. So far, my heart has led me to try my hand in the pursuit of philosophy and theater. When it comes to my studies within this course, I’ve found myself most interested in the political aspects of these teachings. 

Overview

This site is composed of the biggest writing assignments given to me over the semester. Each one has challenged me to think in different ways and even prompted me to challenge my own ideals. I’ve treated these essays like personal journals by using these assignments as opportunities to reflect on my mindset at the time of writing them. This course has given me the opportunity to strengthen my skills as a writer and even taught me something new about conducting research for my material. I like to think that I’ve grown just a little bit between the time I started my semester until now, and I truly hope my revisions will reflect that.
